From Right: Abhinav Krishnaswamy, Joshua Fernandez, Harshan Radhakrishan and Sashank Manohar
MYSTICETI:
Your albums have predicted or set the mood of the year they're released in. What's your mood for Is It Time to Eat the Rich Yet?
ABHINAV:
Shattered optimism
JOSHUA:
More like a prophetic album of sorts encompassing many moods, some including: survival of the fittest, early bird gets the worm, heart-wrenching despair but slightly buoyant, eat or be eaten, unrequited love, bounced cheques, claustrophobia. The key to success is being a greedy and submissive scumbag, luck and your star sign.
HARSHAN:
“learn to deal with the valleys, the hills will take care of themselves"
SASHANK:
Satirical, self-deprecating and extremely human.
HARSHAN:
The video was shot at the same spot we go on weekends to surf, close to the ocean delight surf school at Kovalam.
SASHANK:
Kovalam beach, a local surf spot down the road from us. The only place that felt like a holiday through lockdown.
MYSTICETI:
Where is the golden egg now?
JOSHUA:
Cracked open, whisked and in our bellies
ABHINAV:
Maybe the golden egg was the friends we made along the way...
HARSHAN:
Bottom of the Indian Ocean
SASHANK:
Find out in the next Indiana Jones sequel.
MYSTICETI:
What is your favourite kind of trouble?
ABHINAV:
Fisticuffs and knife fights
JOSHUA:
Women
HARSHAN:
infidelity
SASHANK:
Falling more in love with the idea of a person than the person itself
MYSTICETI:
What do you listen to when you bake?
ABHINAV:
Mild High Club, Homeshake, Sunset Rollercoaster
JOSHUA:
Usually something relaxing and sophisticated cause I don't bake very often so when I do, I'd like to feel like I've got my imaginary 3 Michelin stars; Vincente Fernandes , Sinatra, Chopin, Tony Bennett.
HARSHAN:
Not an avid puffer anymore, but I do take the occasional bake as a reward after a productive day; I've lately found myself swimming in soundtracks by Alexandre Desplat, Michael Giacchino, Hans or Ennio Morricone
SASHANK:
Martha Stewarts sweet recipes for disaster. But more often its Unknown Mortal orchestra, King Gizzard, Andy Shauf, John Maus that have been constant puffs and passes.
MYSTICETI:
What's your least favourite part about being human?
ABHINAV:
Each and every waking minute is a chore.
JOSHUA:
Other humans, paying to exist, inability to fly, over-complicated mating rituals, taxes, back pain.
HARSHAN:
Debt, taxes and hangovers.
SASHANK:
Selling cures for problems we create in the first place.
MYSTICETI:
Some believe this is the apocalypse. Are you panicking?
ABHINAV:
Sweet release at long last. Let's dance to our doom.
JOSHUA:
I welcome it with open arms, a glass of wine and a full belly.
HARSHAN:
I do yoga every morning, I'm invincible.
SASHANK:
It's funny that we see the apocalypse as a disaster when we're just doing the world a favour.
