Thoughts sparked by a fresh coat of paint.
fresh brown paint drips
from the newly painted gate
bringing autumn to a few leaves
well before their time.
i wonder if the nail colour remover
i used on my fingers
would have the same effect on them.
i run my now clean fingers,
smelling of sunday afternoons
and rainy days,
through my greying hair.
